About

Hey, I'm Carlos — a fullstack developer based in Florida. I love turning complex problems into clean, intuitive products that people actually enjoy using.

I work across the full stack — building REST APIs, wiring up databases, architecting data pipelines, and crafting pixel-perfect UIs. The intersection of design, performance, and engineering is where I do my best work.

When I'm not shipping code, you'll find me on the rugby pitch — which has taught me more about teamwork and resilience than any dev course ever could.

Projects

01

FreeCast

Worked across three interconnected products — freecast.com, corp.freecast.com, and cablefreetvkit.com. Drove a +160% increase in visitors and +119% growth in page views (1.59M) through SEO-focused engineering and content architecture. Built a GDPR-compliant platform, integrated Iterable for email automation, and architected an internal analytics dashboard powered by GA4 and BigQuery.

Claymores RFC

Built and maintain the official site for the Central Florida Claymores Rugby Club. Engineered an automated data pipeline using cron jobs to continuously keep match schedules and results up to date, with GitHub Actions handling automated data backups. Content managed via Sanity CMS with contact and notifications powered by Resend.

CFL Melee

Solo-built community hub for the Central Florida Super Smash Bros. Melee scene. Integrates the start.gg API to surface upcoming local tournaments and events in real time. Covers power rankings, stream broadcasts, and community links — a single destination for the regional scene.

04

Florida Rugby History

Scraped and preserved the historical match and competition records of Florida rugby — data that existed only on an aging site at risk of being lost. Built a clean, searchable interface to make decades of records accessible and browsable.

Apes Slippi Rank Reporter

A Discord bot that tracks Super Smash Bros. Melee player rankings via the Slippi API. Monitors a watchlist of players, polls for rank changes every 12–15 seconds, and posts live updates directly to Discord channels. Built entirely in TypeScript.

Search
First.

Beautiful sites that nobody finds are just expensive art. I treat SEO as part of the engineering process — not an afterthought.

01

Core Web Vitals

I build with performance as a first-class concern — optimising LCP, CLS, and INP through proper image handling, font loading strategies, and layout stability.

02

Semantic HTML & Accessibility

Clean, meaningful markup isn't just good for screen readers — it's the foundation search engines crawl. Every project ships with correct heading hierarchy, ARIA labels, and landmark regions.

03

Structured Data (JSON-LD)

I implement schema.org markup to give search engines rich context about content — enabling rich results, knowledge panels, and better click-through rates.

04

Metadata & Open Graph

Every page gets a considered title, description, and social preview. Using Next.js's Metadata API, I ensure pages look great whether shared on Google, LinkedIn, or Slack.

05

Technical SEO

Sitemaps, canonical URLs, robots.txt, and proper redirect handling — the unglamorous work that makes the difference between a site that ranks and one that doesn't.

06

Server-Side Rendering

SPAs are invisible to search engines without careful handling. I leverage Next.js SSR and SSG to ensure content is fully crawlable out of the box.
